The Magneted Fridge

from The War in Iraq by David F. Bello

/

lyrics

Top secret agents and espionage
are suicide bombers with a great christian god.
Nuclear actors are setting the mood
for endless denial trips and shitting on you.
When we learned to grow food to eat near the end of our time,
the world winks and nods at us with roles to assign.
First, all plans and animals (excluding mankind)
will be shuttled like astronauts, so just form a line.
Good people must hurry on, get as far as you can,
make computers and alcohol; soon, we’ll talk again.
If you can keep all your shit away and travel to space
with problems of birth control solved in good taste…
The carpets were cleaner then, to sit and relax.
No there’s streets and apartments and a federal tax.
So just draw funny pictures of people in suits:
grown men using toothpicks to poke at the truth.

In turn, hang what I say to you on the magneted fridge
and cut all the curses you’ve said in front of kids.
So come 50 years after now!
With a limitless globe, the terror of savagery,
now you’re coming back home!
Just eat all the foods you like;
they’re running out fast.
We don’t need gasoline or an upper class.

So eat all the foods you like,
just ‘cause they taste good!
Eat all the foods you like.
Be in a good mood.

Eat all the foods you like.
